Basic Skills

«No-Fail Applique-- THE workshop for beginners working in applique?. Topics include: planning the applique layers; preparing the fabric; centering; needle skills and techniques; creating simple and complex designs.

Half Day workshops available.  $8.00 workshop kit* fee- includes: fabric;needles; thread; "A is for Applique...A is for Apple" original pattern for a small quilt.  Half day pattern, currently features apple and flag motifs. Kits include basic materials for finishing top of small quilt. Students provide their basic sewing kit.

Full Day workshop available.See  ASN Publishing:  ?Learn to Do Applique in One Weekend? #4179 and "101 Applique Blocks", #4203; Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, 12/2001, ?\'No-Fail Applique'.  Students learn to design their own pattern the first half of the day and practice No-Fail techniques in the second half.

«Multi Media Applique Techniques:  New and exciting techniques designed for traditional appliqué enthusiasts.  Use stenciling, embroidery, and pen-work to create memorable designs with ease. These design techniques were first introduced during the IQA Chicago Festival, 2004 and appear in Nancy's book "101 Applique  Blocks".

«Grandma's Quilting Stitch - "Learn How To Hand Quilt in Just One Day?and practice for the rest of your life." Learn techniques for making tiny nineteenth-century style quilting stitches using non-stress positioning of the arms and hands for efficiency and painless hand quilting. Half day workshop. Rotary - Machine Techniques
